As part of EMPC strategy to attract foreign producers to film their productions at our studios and back lots, in addition to, Egypt Film Commission’s efforts and services, offered to international production companies wishing to film their productions in Egypt, the American producer and actor Odain Watson paid EMPC a visit to see its studios, technical centers including the Audiovisual Heritage Restoration center and the Sound studio.
Watson expressed his admiration with what he saw especially the technical centers and the back lots which are characterized by their various architectural styles.
Watson is considered one of the prominent cinema celebrities. He has a lot of experience in the fields of theatre, cinema, TV and musicals. He is also well known for his roles in a number of famous American movies.
After the tour, Egypt Film Commission General Manager, had a meeting with Watson in which they discussed aspects of mutual cooperation including the project of producing an American soap opera to be filmed in Egypt. He also explained the pivotal role played by the Commission in offering all customs and logistics facilities to international production companies through full coordination with all the concerned authorities according to the one stop shop system, which facilitates filming without any obstacles and offers top notch services and competitive prices.
It is noteworthy here to mention that Egypt Film Commission is the only authority responsible for obtaining all permits required for filming in Egypt. It has received a lot of Hollywood and International stars and supervised the filming of a number of productions, reaching 100 works, during the past period that included various nationalities all over Egypt historical sites.
