Khattabi: The Egyptian Media Production City is one of the major media edifices in the region.

 

In the context of keenness to enhance joint cooperation and build bridges of friendship with major Arab institutions and bodies, Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector of the League of Arab States, visited the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC). He was received by Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Jibali, EMPC Chairman of the Board, and discussed, during the meeting, the aspects of joint cooperation between the university and EMPC in many cultural and media fields. That’s in addition to organizing training courses for Arab media cadres in the fields of production and directing, preparing talk shows, editing and studio engineering, through the EMPC Training and Development Center “UPSKIlL”, plus setting cooperation protocols between the two sides, similar to the protocols signed by EMPC with Egyptian and Arab universities, as well as the training programs for African journalists

 

Al-Jibali welcomed the ambassador and stressed the importance of the visit in strengthening friendship and opening new horizons for cooperation with the

League of Arab States, expressing EMPC full readiness to provide all facilities and capabilities to the Arab brothers, and to give them the opportunity to benefit from the city's technological capabilities and human expertise in preparing and training the Arab media cadres.

 

Al-Jibali showed the guest EMPC scientific and technological capabilities and its most important activities, pointing out that EMPC is an integrated media city, which includes many studios, through which the most famous Arab and Egyptian channels are broadcasted, as well as the Heritage Restoration Center, which is the first of its kind in The Middle East in preserving the documentary and audiovisual heritage and protecting it from damage and age.

 

It also includes the Dolby Atmos studio, which is considered the latest audio recording technology in the world. The meeting discussed the issue of EMPC entertainment area "Magic Land", which was leased to one of the largest Arab investors who is specialized in this field worldwide, and is currently being renovated and developed.

 

For his part, Khattabi was thankful for this reception and this important visit, stressing that what he witnessed today was very impressive, as the Egyptian Media Production City is considered one of the major media edifices in our Arab region. He expressed, in the meantime, his sincere desire to cooperate with EMPC in the near future by preparing a vision for this cooperation, especially training in various

media fields and taking advantage of the capabilities provided by the city, in creating promising media cadres and keeping pace with the great development in this field.

 

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador had a tour in the city, which included the training and development center “UP SKILL”, its training halls and laboratories. He also visited the Dolby Atmos studio and the Heritage Restoration Center, and listened to a detailed explanation from the supervisors of these centers on the methods and stages of work and how to operate them.
