This drama depicts the story of two close friends; "Shams" and "Ikhlas"
who live in Alexandria. "Shams", the ignorant girl, sells a kind of
sweets called "Friska" in order to support her family. She falls in
love with "Riyad", the rich journalist, and marries him despite his
family's refusal.
"Riyad" faces hard circumstances that finally lead to firing him
from work. Consequently, "Shams" decides to stand by him no matter
what are the consequences. But for her husband's encouragement, she
would not have been able to resume her education till she gets her
PHD. After her husband's death, she decides to work in the
contracting business. "Shams" and her son "Yehia" are now very rich.
To her bad luck, her husband's family re-appears in her life. Being
broke, they try to attract her son to their side and succeed in
convincing him to rebel against his mom.
On the other hand, there is "Iklas", the materialistic and greedy
girl. She is ready to do anything for the sake of money. She starts
her career as a poor belly dancer in alleys. In no time, she manages
to be the most famous belly dancer in Egypt. As a result of her
selfishness, she becomes the main cause of her son's death.
As both friends; "Shams" and "Iklas" have contradictory points of
view in life, it has not been possible for them to continue as
friends any longer. Therefore, their separation forever has been the
inevitable solution.
