This drama shows the birth of the Women's Liberation Movement in
Egypt by presenting the life history of its leader and sponsor, "Hoda
Sha'rawy". Married, against her will, at the age of thirteen and
divorced in the same way at the age of fifteen, "Hoda" suffered from
all the problems that would face Egyptian women in a narrow-minded
society at that time. After seven years of her divorce, she was
again, forced to return to her ex-husband.
Through all this sufferance, Hoda's awareness of the deteriorating
condition of Egyptian women began to increase. That's why she led
and sponsored the movement of women's emancipation and made it
well-known and respected by all women movements all over the world.
