Outdoor Shooting Areas

The wheels of time, together with modernity, has changed many aspects of Egypt’s social life. Details of many of our building and architectural styles have been lost in places linked to the country’s historical and political periods. Overpopulation in some areas has also prevented on-real-site shooting of drama productions.

It was therefore necessary for us at EMPC to revisit the past and to recreate it, paying as much attention as possible to details of the different building and life styles.

EMPC has 15 outdoor shooting areas, each representing a period in Egypt’s history. In the design, care was given to the fact that facades may be changed to accommodate low-cost production needs. There are also buildings, in different sizes, that could be used for in-door shooting purposes. These have access to EMPC support facilities, make-up rooms, restaurants and hotels.

There is also a spacious area for future expansions. Ideas may pop up for new areas to be recreated to serve other drama production purposes, conceived either by EMPC staff or by Arab and foreign producers who would like to simulate their own environment in Hollywood of the East.
